Hole # 1

PAR: 4
HANDICAP: 13

The 423-yard par 4 starts from a tee surrounded on three sides by towering mature hardwood trees. Upon leaving the chute, the fairway drops gently to a valley landing area. The green is well guarded by bunkers and mounds in its position above the fairway almost to the top of another hill.

The downhill dogleg right, 460-yard par 4 second hole is a driving hole. The wind will feel like a gale as you stand on the unprotected tee. Bunkers guard the landing area at the bend, and also at the green.

Hole # 3

PAR: 3
HANDICAP: 17

The par 3 third hole plays 198 yards and is a good straightforward hole. The green’s shape allows to be tucked, but only the desperate or foolhardy will shoot away from the center of the green.

Hole # 4

PAR: 5
HANDICAP: 15

The par 5 550-yard fourth hole offers an extremely generous landing area. Water parallels the entire left side of the hole and becomes more of a factor after you play your second and third shots. Where you lay up depends upon your daring. The closer to the green the more the water comes into play. The green is slightly elevated and contoured toward the water. Daring shots may not be the best plan of attack.

The par 4 fifth hole plays 433 yards, most often with a prevailing wind. Mud Creek parallels the entire left side, but serves as only a minor nuisance. The mounding on the left and deep bunkers will cause more havoc to your score.

The par 3 213-yard sixth hole will be no problem for an accurate driver. The fairway and green are perched on an elevated peninsula surrounded by water.

Hole # 7

PAR: 4
HANDICAP: 5

The dogleg left 403-yard par4 seventh hole offers a chance to gamble off the tee. The longer tee shot will leave an opportunity to be aggressive with your next shot. However, an errant tee shot can find water down the entire left side. If your ball makes it through the mature trees on the right, there is another creek. The green extends over the water on the left and that is where the fun begins.

HANDICAP: 9

The 400-yard par 4 eighth hole is a dogleg left with another creek that parallels the fairway, and wraps around the green. (Art Hills must be a fader). The fairway is level but the right rough moves up a hill that bends to the left as well. The green is small and looks harmless. Looks are deceiving, in this case

The 500-yard par 5 ninth hole is reachable only for the daring. The hole bends to the left off the tee and stays straight until 40 yards before the green. At that point, the fairway moves right, and the green sits with a cathedral of birch and oak trees bordering the right side. The green itself is elevated in front and mounded in the back. This hole may be an easy 5 or a frustrating 7.

Hole # 10

PAR: 4
HANDICAP: 10

The tenth hole is a strategic 390-yard par 4 that doglegs to the left around wetlands. The tee shot out of a chute and off of a plateau to a large, well defined fairway. The bold player can cut the dogleg and use a wedge to the small undulating green that does not have a bunker. The better player is to select a club that avoids the three target bunkers on the right, the wetlands on the left, and leaves a mid iron on the green.

Hole # 11

PAR: 5
HANDICAP: 16

The 536-yard par 5 eleventh hole offers another opportunity to gamble. The dogleg right is protected by a line of mature trees to the right, and two gaping fairway bunkers to the left. Anyone that accepts the gamble must clear a large shallow bunker that guards the front of the green and the water that intrudes on the right. The green is well mounted and contoured to extend the challenge.

The 450-yard, slight dogleg right par 4 twelfth hole tempts the golfer to cut over the three bunkers that mark the dogleg. The longer and safer route to the left will leave you with a long iron to an elevated green that is well bunkered. Par here is a good score.

The thirteenth hole will test your nerve. This 400-yard par 4 features water all along the left side of the hole. The fairway is generously large but with water so predominately visible to the right, rough will see plenty of action. As you might have guessed, the wind will blow towards the water most of the time.

Hole # 14

PAR: 4
HANDICAP: 12

At 320 yards in length you might think that you have an easy hole. The par 4 fourteenth signature hole demands accuracy from the tee. The longer the club you select, the more generous the landing area and the closer you come to the three fairway bunkers. Water guards the entire right side of the hole and wraps behind this elevated green. An easy par or an easier double bogey.

A recurring theme of Arthur Hills is to allow the opportunity to gamble, if you have the nerve. The 567-yard par 5 features a lake bordering the entire left side of the dogleg left hole. Play it safe to the right to keep your ball dry. The green is set into the hill that rises from the lake. Any ball that lands to the right of the green kicks back to the green and toward the water.

The largest green on the course will receive your tee shot on this par 3 196-yard hole. All you have to avoid is the lake that borders the left of the hole and the large bunker front right. Wind will always be a factor on this hole.

The classic finishing hole, a 448-yard par 4 dogleg left. The tee shot can cut the dogleg, but it must clear the wetlands that extend down the left side and wraps behind the green. The right side of the fairway has three bunkers lying in wait, for the overly cautious. The second shot cannot be run onto the green because of the large shallow bunkers that protect its front.
